Category Archives: Party time at Braceborough Hall
We are pleased to report that the panto evening was a great success and much fun was had by all. The performers did a great job:
The evening was made complete with a lovely buffet supper. Lots of us have a sweet tooth so we will concentrate on the dessert table – yum, yum!
But best of all? We raised £356.60 for Breast Cancer Care.
A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make it a successful evening and to everyone who attended. It was a great start to a lovely Christmas week.
The elves have been very busy this week getting the tree up in the hall:
As always Edna is on the top
If you would like to get a proper look at the tree we hope you will come and join us on Monday night at 7pm for the Christmas panto – Jack and the Beanstalk. Tickets are £5 and include a victorian supper, with all proceeds going to the residents’ chosen charity – Breast Cancer Care. If you haven’t booked yours yet please contact Matron or Julia asap.
For those of you who like to get things booked in your diary well in advance, the Christmas Panto – Jack and the Beanstalk – has been booked for Monday 19th December at 7pm.
As always there will be a victorian supper afterwards and a raffle to raise funds for the Resident’s charity.
Tickets are £5 per person. Please let Matron or Julia know if you would like to join us, all are welcome.
We have been celebrating again this week, it was Mrs Brown’s birthday on Wednesday.
She had a lovely day celebrating with her family both at Braceborough Hall and on a trip out. And the day was topped off at the social evening when the performers from Partytime Productions finished their show by singing Happy Birthday to her and getting all of the audience to join in.
Mrs Brown later told Matron that she had enjoyed a wonderful day, adding “I haven’t had a birthday like this since I was eight!”
Thank you to everyone who came to the Summer Fete at Braceborough Hall on Saturday.
The weather mostly played ball with just a sprinkling of rain, although this is surely a feature of pretty much any summer fete in England! Despite the best attempts of the wind our small marquee also stayed up which was a blessing.
Although the turnout was a bit smaller than usual we are delighted to report that those who did come were extremely generous and we raised £311 in just 2 short hours.
So, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped with preparations, to those who worked so hard on the day and to all who came and generously supported the event and our charity this year, Breast Cancer Care. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Come and join us Wednesday 28th September at 7pm for “Celebrate the Sounds of Music“, an evening of music performed by Partytime Productions of London followed by a buffet supper.
They will be performing a selection of show songs from Carousel, The King and I, Oklahoma and, of course, The Sound of Music and sing-a-long is encouraged!
There is a charge for this event which will be going to our charity for this year. The residents are still making their final choice but it looks very much like we will be supporting a Breast Cancer appeal.
Ooops! Nearly forgot to update the information on here. Due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to change the date of the summer fete.
This will now be held on Saturday 10th September. All other details remain the same.
Apologies for the late update on the website.
We are pleased to announce the date for our annual summer fete is now confirmed as Saturday 20th August, 3-5pm.
Come and join us for games and cream teas and whilst you are here you might want to try your luck in the raffle or treat yourself to something naughty from our cake stall.
Entry is free and all proceeds will be donated to charity. We hope to see you on the day.
